Dara Pogoff is a Chicago-based wellness expert, focusing on movement and bodywork.

“Heal your body from the outside in and the inside out.”

My background and approach

Originally from Minneapolis MN, I grew up having been exposed to all types of art. I was most drawn to dance and choreography. Expressing myself through movement both on and off the stage, fueled me with soul-driven beats.

Therefore, I attended an arts high school, Perpich Center for Arts Education, where I majored in dance. Following this, I was also a dance major at Columbia College Chicago, with dancemaking as my concentration. Throughout my time in school, I was introduced to both Pilates and yoga. It was here where I learned the importance of cross-training to balance the physical demands as a dancer. I learned to go inward and listen to my body by not going past my threshold. It was here, that I learned how to truly go inward, thus aiding in my performance and teaching in years to come. It was also in school, that I got a taste of massage therapy and bodywork. I learned the value of self-care is, so we can maintain peak performance, without playing catch up with ourselves and our bodies.

Since 2010, I have become a Licensed Massage Therapist, and a Certified and registered Pilates and Yoga Teacher. I utilize several techniques, being influenced by both Eastern and Western methodologies. I believe that energy and function go hand in hand in how we absorb and manifest information. It is my journey to be a part of yours and a passion to guide you in optimal growth.
